You just can't see them. Yet.
In 2001, Thirteen Ghosts did something most horror films never attempt: it gave each of its monsters a biography. The Jackal. The Torn Prince. The Bound Woman. The Pilgrimess. Each one a person once, each one a tragedy now — trapped behind glass walls in a house that was never meant to be a home.
The film understood that the most terrifying thing about a ghost isn't what it does — it's what it was. And the glass house, with its Latin inscriptions and mechanical precision, remains one of the most visually inventive horror settings ever constructed. Matthew Lillard as the tormented psychic Dennis Rafkin delivered a performance that deserved far more recognition than it received.
This metal sign is a tribute to a film that dared to be ambitious in a genre that rarely rewards ambition. Hang it where the light catches the edges. That's when it looks best.
